Meghan Garner
Oki! My name is Meghan Garner and I am a third-year student at the University of Lethbridge. I am pursuing a General Humanities degree with a focus on Indigenous studies, English, and Fine Arts. Despite relating to a predominantly white, Canadian culture, I'm developing what is referred to as "Two-Eyed Seeing": learning to see from one eye with the strengths of both Indigenous and Western knowledges and ways of knowing, most importantly using both of these eyes together for the benefit of all. Blackfoot history, culture, and language is in danger of being lost, and I am actively working with a wonderful team of experts in increasing online leaning material for Blackfoot language, creating linguistic workshops, and inviting Blackfoot community members to come to the University of Lethbridge to teach and share their knowledge with students.
