Sinensxw, Jessica Starlund

Sinensxw, Jessica Starlund is Gitxsan and Nuu-chah-nulth. She holds a Master’s degree in Indigenous Language Revitalization from the University of Victoria and has been teaching Sim Algyax in her home community for the past 14 years. Her work reflects a deep commitment to Indigenous language learning, community-based research, and intergenerational language revitalization.

Jessica is also a Mentor-Apprentice Coach with the First Peoples’ Cultural Council, where she supports learners, mentors, and communities. She enjoys learning and sharing tools and strategies that help support community-led language revitalization efforts.
